Get Ready for SchoolEducation is a key to freedom from poverty. In Nana's House our goal is to see children set free from the chains and sadness that poverty produces. Several of the girls who came to us never stepped foot inside of a school. They did not know how to read, write or do math. We immediately enrolled them into school or we taught them at home through a government program. Now we have an awesome opportunity to send all the girls in Nana’s House to a wonderful private school. The director of this school has offered to help us get the girls papers in order so that all their schooling can be certified. It’s like winning the golden ticket. Poverty has made life miserable for these girls. It is complicated, since they have never been in school, they are not allowed in the public schools until their papers are in order.  If I can raise $7,000 dollars, I can send 13 girls to school all year. Nana’s House offers the keys to open the door to freedom from abuse and poverty. We make sure they get an education and all the girls are very involved in our church. We make sure each girl learns a skill that will help her find work in the future. The success of Nana’s House also depends on our church. We have a large community that loves these girls and a very active children and youth department they are involved in several times a week. We at Nana’s house are covering the basic needs of love, discipline and a safe home for these girls. We need to make sure the program is complete with a great education.
